Hey, my name is Jörg Steinhauer.
I am a web developer, photographer / video-dude, drummer and dad of two gold energy machines.

I started out with web development around 2001 — back then using MS Word and other questionable methods. The first version of this website was created in 2002. At that time, everything was done with HTML tables — the entire layout was based on them. With Adobe GoLive, I found a tool that let me build websites without any coding knowledge. Inline CSS was everywhere, CSS files were for pros, and spacing was done using transparent images… what a crazy world. Over time, I mastered CSS files, learned to style using classes instead of IDs, hacked MySpace layouts with CSS, and… ah well, I’m rambling.
By 2006, when I started my apprenticeship as a media designer, it was crystal clear where my career path was heading. At that point, I was turning my hobby into a profession. Since then, I’ve been working in web design and web development, and I still love it. The fact that I can blend design with programming is what makes it so appealing to me and keeps me hooked.
Bit by bit, other areas of web dev joined the mix — JavaScript, TypeScript, CMS, RWD, SEO, tools, and frontend frameworks like Vue, React, Angular, NextJS etc. Since 2024 at the latest, the whole process has been modernly boosted by AI (Cursor, Claude Code, Devin, Gemini).
I’ve also deeply embraced the whole Adobe suite, starting way back with the classic Photoshop 6. Since 2024, I’ve even developed several Adobe scripts and plugins on my own (with help from AI).
Frontend web development is my field. Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in this topic!

My first (real) camera was the Canon 400D, which I bought with my first paycheck as an apprentice. My true love for DSLRs began with the Nifty Fifty, and ever since, I’ve been in love with bokeh. Over the years, my gear has gone through several upgrades – Canon 7D, Canon 5D MK III, and now I’m using the Sony A7 III and Sony A7s. Sony was far ahead of the competition when it came to high ISO performance. Nowadays, other brands have caught up, but for now, I’m sticking with Sony. Every brand has its pros and cons, but at the end of the day, the best camera is the one you have with you.

The transition from photography to video wasn’t a long one — it made sense to start working with moving images as well. After getting into photography, video naturally followed, especially with the Canon 7D and its video mode. With the Sony A7 series, I reached a whole new level. And thanks to increasingly powerful computers, video editing has finally become fun.
I shoot videos on topics I enjoy — mainly events, concerts, music videos, and promotional films.
Motion design is the latest step I’m currently exploring. With all the video tutorials available, it’s even more enjoyable.
The recent breakthroughs in AI will undoubtedly reshape this field, as well as many others, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

My first instrument was… no, not the drums. It was the piano. I briefly played bass as well. It wasn’t until I was 18 that drums entered my life, and I’ve stuck with them ever since.
As a self-taught musician who enjoys using modern learning methods, I’m always striving for perfection. Well, that will probably never happen, but the fun has to stay — and of course, that comes with practicing the basics, which isn’t always enjoyable. But hey, no pain, no gain.
Since 2002, I’ve been actively playing in bands, now in my third one. A few side projects, 10 albums, and countless jam sessions complete the picture. It’s a blast, and that’s the way it should be!

Toll. Vielen Dank. Zur Scheidung wieder. 🤣
