For me, playing the drums means organizing chaos and making silence speak.
I’ve been playing drums since around 2002, with some shorter and longer breaks. I’m self-taught and embarked on this adventure when one day I felt a strong desire to have my own band. The circumstances were right, and I had some great people around me who shared the same goal.
In 2002, my first punk-rock band, later evolving into progressive rock, RED WAVE, was formed in the Upper Lusatia region. The band was active until around 2013, and we played a total of 73 concerts.
The second project, FYRETYRE (Stoner Metal), was formed in Dresden around 2007 after I moved to the Saxon capital. The band existed until 2014, and we played 24 gigs.
The current project is SLOW GREEN THING (Stoner Doom), which I’ve been a part of since 2013 and am still actively involved in. By the end of 2023, we had already performed 65 concerts.
Feel free to check out what we’re playing 😉
In between, I play as a session musician here and there. For example, in 2012, I was part of a 10-day tour with Lord Bishop Rocks, performing in Italy, Bosnia, Hungary, and Germany with a total of 7 concerts. At the end of 2009, I was part of an important concert with Nothing Ends. From 2022 to 2023, I joined the production of the Audiolyse album (as of December 2023, the album is still in progress).
As a balance to my own arrangements, I enjoy producing drum covers and playing along to songs that are important to me.

Drum Cover
Another highlight of my musical hobby is drum covers. I simply play along to songs that I like or that mean a lot to me. It all started as an experiment, but over time, it became a solid part of my hobby. The great thing about it is that you’re not limited to one genre.
This map shows the locations where I’ve played as a drummer. Most of East Germany was toured with my bands, with additional trips to the south in 2012 with Lord Bishop Rocks. The markers can be clicked to reveal more information and photos.
